The ethernet and artistic creation

One day after I had finished a bunch of the Paterson collages, I asked my zen husband “where did this come from?”. He told me “the ethernet”. In thinking about this in my case and also in Kerfe’s, I think this is true. We both feel that one thing will lead to another, that there are happy accidents. I don’t know if Kerfe agrees with me on this but sometimes I feel a force behind me when I paint or do other stuff, some force that is encouraging me on. I really can’t explain this painting or why I did four numbered boxes within it. Something just told me to.

very organic. The boxes are like rock formations, or elements or something. I just read a review of a book where the author thought the whole world springs from math…why not? as good as any other theory.

Did you have to think about which numbers went on which boxes?

I don’t really think when I paint. That’s why I like it so much. I just keep going til it’s done, looking at the piece and putting in the missing pieces.
