Red Apple Rest

Every Jerseyite knows the Red Apple Rest, which was a great stopping place on Route 17 at the border of NJ and NYC. Today it stands in ruins. This is a photo that I painted over to give it that impressionistic look, on the iPad app.

I had a class once where we painted over newspaper photos in a journal…I’ll have to look and see if I still have it somewhere. It’s very inspirational, haven’t thought of it in a long time. This works really well, the deserted feeling is perfect.
