Random Drawings from Last Week (#2)
Nina asked for more cats after my first set of Random Drawings (https://methodtwomadness.wordpress.com/2015/06/29/random-drawings-from-last-week/). Tabby was around quite a bit last week, doing various cat things. OK, mostly sleeping.
We went to see the Mets and Diamondbacks at CitiField (a haven, like all stadiums these days, for corporate sponsorship…). Mets fan: happy. D’backs fan: don’t ask.
The players stretched before the game. Why can’t they stay still?
We were kind of (way) above home plate, so I had a better view of the pitchers than the batters.
The fans (or “guests” as they are now called) ate, as fans do.
I also drew a car parked in front of my house. I definitely need some practice on drawing cars.
Oh I love the baseball player sketches – so full of movement and life!

Nicola is right – all of your sketches are so lively and wonderful! You elevate the sketch to an art form by putting so much of your personality and expressiveness right in there. And I’m absolutely amazed at what you can do with baseball players!! I think the cat sketches may be my favorites, though. They are all wonderful! 💜

Thanks…I too am trying to sketch at least something everyday. The cat was cooperative last week, but today I think it’s too hot to sleep on the deck. He’s probably in the jungle of a yard next door. I’m sure something will catch my eye though.

Have you noticed your drawings really improving? I feel like they are. Mine, too. I did a stargazer lily last night that I probably wouldn’t be ashamed to post! It’s amazing what drawing every day does. And it helps me think more clearly on the right side (or seems to). I’m loving your sketches! Keep it up! 💛

Yes, I do feel they are generally better…ups and downs on the way of course! I’m definitely always looking at the way things are constructed now, even if I’m not going to draw them. So it’s improved my attention in that way too.

Thanks for the cats. My dogs are doing a lot of sleeping also. I really like your sketch of the ballpark structure, something different for you. Stay cool, Kerfe!

You too! Yesterday the air was really heavy. We need some rain again too, the plants are very unhappy.

Yes, it’s CitiField. I don’t like it as much as Shea, but the bathrooms and food are definitely an improvement!

Love the look of gesture you used in all of these drawings!

Thanks. I’ve seen so many people sketching with a marker that I decided to try it. It has a lighter touch than pencil I think, and is good for action.
