Unexpected Calligraphy
My grandmother always told me that the back of what you make with needle and thread should be as beautiful as the front. Annerose Georgeson’s wonderful calligraphic paintings (https://wordpress.com/read/post/id/9502204/5809) reminded me that I meant to post the back of my cross-stitched graph because it surprised me with the interesting patterns that appeared.
I’m sure I could use this idea for something else…stitching over watercolor comes to mind.
…to be added to that ever longer list of ideas.
You can see the front of this collaboration with the poet Tetiana Aleksina here: https://methodtwomadness.wordpress.com/2015/05/11/collaboration-a-canvas/
i wrote a poem..a simplest one..can you take a look..

Nice! Stitching over watercolor!! Woot! Love this. Ooh ok a WC background and then trees could be stitched, lines, almost like instead of line and wash, stitch and wash! 👏👍😳😀 You should have an idea booth. Kind of like Charlie Brown. Maybe set up a kiosk and charge $5 apiece. Or $500!

Anyone is free to use my ideas…(including you…you know how to stitch, right?)

Lol thanks. Yeah, I used to be into it, but I’d need a whole different mood. Would be great for the right circumstance. I’d drag out the embroidery floss. Can’t have enough color! Hmm. Maybe that’s a thought. No shortage of WC fails lately, would make nice substrates. Thanks for your generosity. 💛

Yes, I have lots of pieces of watercolors included in my pile of things to save by stitching or collage. I hate to throw things out, and I always think I can redeem the effort somehow…

It’s good you have these piles because you’re really good at both – more fodder for you! And bad watercolor paintings can make really beautiful abstract pieces. Luckily, I’ve been saving all of mine too. I hope to make them into art quilts. If I ever find my way back to that.

That would be great. Hope you find the way (and probably mostly the time).

That is great. Looks like some kind of language that only you can read.
