Leftovers
I painted these faces with leftover paint on leftover paper cut from the edges of larger paintings.
Just some quick impressions from a folder of magazine and newspaper photos I’ve accumulated.
I’m always on the lookout for an interesting face!

Ooo, I like these very much! Like the minimalistic touches, and the colors. And, may I add, they are very nice faces, too! 🙂

There are so many interesting faces in the world! In fact, all of them have their charms. I’m always tearing out photos that catch my eye. And nice not to overwork something…easy to do with watercolor.

Like snowflakes, no two faces are alike (thank God!). 🙂
I like watercolors a lot, although I’ve never tried that medium and from what I’ve heard you have to know what you’re doing. I’ll leave the art to you … 🙂

Watercolors do have a mind of their own. But sometimes that’s a good thing. I’m a big fan of the unexpected.

It’s true. To stop striving for perfection is a recipe we all need every once in awhile.

Thanks Claudia. I have some junk mail paintings to post too, although I haven’t done any text for them yet. But soon I think.

So inspiring! Now I am encouraged to revisit my folder of faces. So nice to know I’m in good company with this face-collection interest! Now, to retrieve the clipping of Daniel Day-Lewis…

I’m always cutting things out…every once in awhile I have to clean house though. I already have more references than I could ever use.

Those are super portraits! I love both the colors and the vibrancy. Please do more of these!

I’m sure there will be more somewhere down the line. My painting is irregular, but it keeps popping up!
