Paramecium: a collaboration

paramecium painting

I was enchanted by the paramecium paintings of Michael Ehrhardt.  I suggested they needed poetic words.  He challenged me to write them.  Here they are.

you can train a paramecium  well that’s what they said
just open your mind  a vast sky appears
transparent echo of the sun
they are answering the voices
the songs seem weightless
spiraling the wind  longing for attachment
osmotic mirage  reflected ghost
fissioning musical design  dancing in infinite time
anonymous  immortal

For Jane Dougherty’s challenge #24:  a cleave poem.

You can see all of Michael Ehrhardt’s wonderful work here.
