That Light

dazzle 4s

“And that light?
–It’s your shadow.”
–Dulce Maria Loynaz

the sun is rising   look how bright
the sun cries   how long the day
dazzle dazzle   entangled
dreaming   shimmering
meaning to return   in transit
a beacon   slowly retreating
grounded   in weightlessness
until suddenly   awakening
dark

Once again, inspired by Cuban poet Dulce Maria Loynaz.  It was supposed to be a summer solstice poem, but the words ran away from my intent as often seems to be the case.  The sun did give me a gift when I went to photo the collage yesterday, though.

I’ve also used the words from the secret keeper’s prompt this week
| MEANING | RAISE | CRY | DREAM | GROUND |

The cleave poem will not be centered for some unknown WordPress reason in the Reader, so go to the actual blog to get the best visual for it.

Don’t you just love when the words run away from your intent! And they end up being just what they are supposed to be. Lovely collage and lighting. Such a “bright spot” in my morning K!

Wow, what an amazing piece. You so rock the grids. And I love the sunspots on your image! I love how there is a sunrise and set in your verse as well. Nice job, Kerfe.
