Almost Air

poison kiss wht s

you blush like a woman’s breath
listen with a kiss
from this delicious poison

colors dance desire home
freedom almost air
voice remembering

music surrounded by loss
a window broken
with longing still you sail on

lingering on glass breezes
your lips answering with
no singing just endless noise

My answer to the secret keeper’s prompt this week, using the words
SONG | WOMAN | FREE | NO | LOST

The art was painted and then collaged.  I had an idea, but this doesn’t look much like what I had in mind.  On the other hand, I think it fits with the words.

Beautiful pairing of art and verse. Some of the images created through your words are so enticing, “…with longing still you sail on/ lingering on glass breezes…” Wow! Loving it. Thank you for sharing.

I love the strength of the images, poem and art.

Thanks Claudia. Interesting that you see strength; I feel vulnerablility. Although two sides of the same coin, as always.

      • Claudia McGill says :

Yes, you are right, or maybe even mixed together. Strength to compensate for vulnerability or because of it, like the chicken and the egg – which came first?

You pair your art and poetry well. I do see the vulnerability and it feels like it comes from a resentment delivered in response to not having demands met. Maybe that comes to me from an ominous male presence in the upper right corner.

      • memadtwo says :

I’m not sure it’s resentment. Male-female relationships are so complex, at least in my world. Or any love relationship really. There is always vulnerability with strong emotion. And so much left unspoken.

It’s raining now, and your poem and artwork reflect the melancholic vibe, Great work!

Beautiful collage and poem. They definitely go together. I love the colors–well, I love the words, too. 🙂
