stolen lives

stolen lives 2ss

sing
to me
of winds and
rivers.  I have
no answers, just ghosts
reflected by mirrors
of night.  Perhaps my spirit
is too heavy…these stolen lives
must be returned.  They must be returned.

I love this, how quiet it is, and how despair seems to haunt its corners.

Love the words, so beautiful on the one and so sad on the other side. The two sides of life… 💜

I wish I knew what to say. It’s worse than ever. Did the 60s ever feel this violent?

The tone of the times seems different (in retrospect anyway). Like the times then actually were changing. The anger was at situations, events. A gun wasn’t the immediate solution…like Kent State, that was shocking. Now it feels like we’re caught in an endless nightmare…at least to me. We are resigned to endless repetitions of violence, expecting no changes of heart.
