Beneath Cloud Winds
“Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts.”
–Rachel Carson
A magnetic poetry poem for The Elusive Trope’s Saturday Challenge, and a beauty quote for Colleen and Ronovan’s Writer’s Quote Wednesday challenge.
The watercolor is loosely based on a beautiful photo posted on The Silent Eye, (via a reblog from Sue Vincent), who kindly gave me permission to use it as a reference.

Lovely painting, as if catching a glimpse of a greater world beyond. The quote and magnetic verse sweeten the presentation.

That’s exactly the feeling I got when I saw the photo…I’m glad it came through in the painting too.

That painting looks like the beginning of so many California coast adventures. Just tumbled out of the car with a bunch of friends and just over that ridge is a wild, rocky beach.

Thanks! I don’t paint landscapes that often, but this one spoke to me.
