Woven

The abstract from the other day: I cut it into strips and wove it. It reminded me of those loopy pot holders we used to make on the little metal frame. Those were fun! Anyone out there remember making pot holders for their mothers?

This was a good way to improve an ugly painting and I kind of like it. Here’s a closeup with it on black paper.

Also a close up on white. The black is better I think.

What a clever idea! I really like this woven. I like the black, too, it adds more drama I think. 🙂

I remember making those pot holders!

Awesome idea! I may try that on some paintings of mine that I’m not impressed with 🙂

Wow! This is so super gorgeous. I have a painting in the works with a lattice design in it for which something like this would be perfect. I need to make me one — if I can — would be difficult to match the beauty of this — to use as a motif to paint from. What a stunner.

I love this! But it made me laugh because I liked the original. I also made those stretchy pot holders for my mom – so vibrant!

Very cool, Nina. I never thought of weaving. I have cut up a composition into squares, rearranged and sewn them back together. Very similar to your work.
