Moon Gardens
between night and dark
rest secret longings
pure songs
wandering in moon gardens
shaded with ancient air
The NaPoWriMo prompt today is to use a phrase from someone else’s work to spark a poem. I got the phrase “moon garden” not from a poem but from Michael Chabon’s wonderful book “Moonglow”. I’ve been wanting to use it somewhere, and here it is (with the help of the Magnetic Oracle).

Wow–the Oracle comes through again! Moon gardens in the between time with pure songs and ancient air. I love it!

Yes, the Oracle was in special form for this one. Might have been the idea of moon gardens…

The visuals are beautiful; longings lingering in the garden under a serenade of moonlight. Enchanting.

Thanks! The moons are from a photo I took at the beach last year. It was orange, but I’ve altered the color and used it for a lot of different collages. It was definitely a magical moon.

Thanks Ken, me too. It’s a place the narrator’s grandfather imagines in Chabon’s book. Where troubles disappear…
