Spellbound

wheel of fortune 1s

I draw the Wheel of Fortune. My seasons are indeed turning.  I open maps, searching for a solid place to land.  Dazzled by paths that keep shifting, I am transported with a velocity that blurs the threads that have held me in the landscape my feet have raveled in the circles of my years.  The unknown spills across my limitations, beyond the boundaries traced by time.

Randomness and change
growing wings in transcendence–
radiant shadows

This is dazzling–both words and image.
(And of course, I love space and time and pushing beyond boundaries. . .) 🙂

I like the structure on top of the irregularity – not restraining or fencing it in, just adding a level of order that can be used to interpret it or not. Beautiful.

In this piece, I think I am dazzled most by the words. They are so good. The wheel made me uneasy, between web and target, made me think, violence. The contrast is one of the aspects that makes this one special, I think.

Your words, especially in the first paragraph, are very captivating as are the evenness of the stitches and perfect lines of the circles…never really pondered that before

Randomness is a mysterious aspect of life that eventually, when all is said and done, reveals itself to be a force of unpredictable design like your wheel of fortune or the butterfly effect. Love the wording, “circle of my years.”

Your artwork always mesmerizes me, Kerfe – especially the blues and greens. And then when you add embroidery it adds another whole dimension. Powerful words, as well!
