possibilities 4s

fill with
ancient woodsong–
earth provides a bier,
untroubled by short days,
groves of lengthening shadows–
sleeping undisturbed, deep, waiting,
threads gather in anticipation–
life awakening to become itself

I love the quiet sense of promise that comes through both your painting and poem.

I like the other-worldliness of the paintings and the additional meaning they bring to the poem. I love the thought of trees and other plants filling up ready for the winter sleep, the earth providing a bier, and the threads gathering in anticipation– I see spring kissing them awake like the prince in Sleeping Beauty.

I like the sense of the trees waiting, and I was just thinking of the way the shadows fall in late afternoon in autumn: “groves of lengthening shadows–
    sleeping undisturbed, deep, waiting,”

That is the best kind of bier, the one that carries us back to life.

Love how you have used the shape of the poem to be that of a tree.

wonderful – the words gather the energy and strength for the wait – and then, the (eventual) burst back to life …. lovely essences in the quiet certainty here …. and the art work is very complimentary

I could feel your words as I read them… winternights for sure! In your painting, I see a circle – the wheel of life turning with the seasons. We are at the end of the Pagan year with new beginnings around the corner. You always touch me with your art and words. ❤
