unforsaken
I thought I would visit the Oracle this week to see what She had to say about Sue Vincent’s photo prompt, above.
I had already done my painting, and I guess it’s not surprising that the Oracle confirmed that many treasures lie below the surface, even in the darkest times.
rocks breathe ancient bones,
fertile earth of pure starlight–
deep spirit rivers
climbing windpaths into air–
the murmuring of seedsong

Lovely. I particularly like the last line – the murmuring of seed songs. I am listening for them too.

The painting is perfect, capturing the rich life beyond the stak surface… and the poem touches the heart of this landscape.

The richness that emerged when I started to paint seemed to fit, even though the photo looks darker. Thanks Sue.

I think you caught the inner landscape, rather than the outer.

The painting is so vivid and alive, Kerfe and I agree, that last line… the murmuring of seedsong… you can hear this in the painting.

It’s there, even if we can’t always see it. Thanks Damien.

Thanks Ken. The landscape is always breathing, and I’m pleased that comes through in the painting.

Beautiful, Kerfe. Like others, I think that last line is wonderful, but really the whole thing–almost an incantation. The Oracle always knows, doesn’t she?
Your love your art, too.

Thanks Merril. She does know.
The painting surprised me. Watercolor does that.
