Weekend Painting 11/05/18
I did some painting over the weekend. This one I called “Angel in Dismay”. Is an explanation needed? I am very concerned over the election tomorrow although I live in a bubble, the typical “wealthy Northern New Jersey suburb”. We’re all pretty much a bunch of liberals. It’s the rest of the country I’m worried about.
Two figures. Where does this come from? I just start painting and stuff emerges.
The start of a drip painting. I’ll post it tomorrow if I finish it today.
A rainy Monday here. Today is my mother’s birthday. She would have been 97 and probably would have hated that. She never became an “old lady”. Hopefully that will also be my fate although this year I will turn 70. I guess you could say that’s old. But I feel the same as ever.
As an interested observer across the Pond, I’ve got my fingers (well, everything) crossed for you on Tuesday. The pictures are intriguing – thoughtful, perhaps – though I notice their bright colours. A good omen, perhaps?

I just love color and painting. My fingers are crossed too.

Listening to the results just now, 1.30am our time, too early to tell …

I love them, especially #2.

Thanks, I kind of liked it too. Done on the cardboard end of an Arches block so nice and slick for painting on.

I really want to linger over that second one in particular!

Grievous angel. Let’s hope tomorrow she is smiling. The second one is great, but I also love that drip tree. Keep going! (K)

I too am worried about the election tomorrow…. As Kerfe says, hopefully your pensive angel will be smiling tomorrow. Crossing fingers…. 🤞

I think the second picture explains the first. Actually, both the things in the second picture look as though they shouldn’t be allowed out.
From what we see of the election reporting, there are bubbles and there are vast swathes of lunacy. Good luck!

Hi Nina – I’m hoping for a good voting turn out to help end the lunacy as Jane says. Your paintings are hopeful.
