we look into water, unreflected

we look wht s

the sun barely seen–
grey on grey glowing—we rise,
misting, light-headed–

our feet look for gravity–
unattached, we need mending,

we look close up s

we need anchorage–
a quiet cove, tree walls and
a ceiling of stars–

we look close up 3s

unshadowed, we are remade–
molecules falling apart

into nebulas

This is for Sue Vincent’s photo challenge this week, above.  I promised Nina I would try to post something.

we look blk s

Death is a complex space, like the spirits it contains.  May their journeys always be filled with the infinite light of stars.

Wishing everyone the happiest of holidays.  I’ll be back for real in January.

I’d like to think that a continued presence is the answer, yet I have no answers.

Your art is the reflection your title seeks.

I think it’s fitting that the road in Sue’s photo leads into the mist that opens your poem.

And I wish I had more answers.

All of what Ken said. . .no answers, but coming from and going to stars is as fitting as anything else.

Water and the stars, making and unmaking, it’s all part of the process. You say it beautifully, even if none of us knows how or why it all happens.

Very reflective, if you’ll excuse the pun. Some powerful words and pictures to contemplate during the winter solstice. Hope yours brings you good things.
