over and over
What dark fire is this
melting the air with fresh blood?
endless broken days,
ghost voices lingering in
an eternity of tears

The Oracle gave you, me, and Jane variations of the same theme.
So beautiful, sad, and true: “ghost voices lingering in
an eternity of tears”

It’s hard to escape from those voices…thanks Merril.

Perhaps the hope is in the broken circle.

That’s a good point. It needs to be broken.

I think you just did it. Maybe it’s a sign.

OMGosh, I LOVE the image! I also dig the way-cool font, like pieces of life taped together to make something haunting but beautiful.

Thanks Priscilla. It’s an enso which is done with a sumi brush and ink.
The poem is done with the Magnetic Poetry Oracle. Many of us visit her every Saturday. You can do your own: https://magneticpoetry.com/pages/play-online

I might get the actual magnetic poetry kit and leave it in the kitchen for the kids

Highly effective haiku … or is it a renga?

Tanka. A haiku with 2 extra lines.

Ah yes, was thinking of this – “Renga (連歌, collaborative poetry) is a genre of Japanese collaborative poetry—poetry written by more than one author working together. A renga consists of at least two ku (句) or stanzas. The opening stanza of the renga, called the hokku (発句), became the basis for the modern haiku form of poetry.” Ain’t Google clever?

A prayer for the slain and wounded in Christchurch?

It would seem that’s on the Oracle’s mind today. As it is on everyone’s I would guess.

I’m so envious of your Oracle!! In just a bit of paint and a few words… so much is described! 😍
