a fool’s errand

sorry charlie fool s

up your
heels, make it
snappy—twist and
shout, whistle while you
work—cut loose, horse around,
let the cat out of the bag–
let it all hang out—rise and shine,
get the show on the road, get it off
your chest—chime in, toot your horn—kiss and tell

A bit of fun, using synonyms for spring and sing, Colleen’s Tanka Tuesday prompt words this week.  When I was looking at the thesaurus for synonyms, all the stock phrases jumped out at me, reminding me of a post I did a few years ago.  I’ve recycled the art and the idea into an etheree.

Your etheree has a great shape and the synonyms for spring and sing are great fun, Kerfe. I especially enjoyed ‘twist and shout’ – it’s got me humming Beatles songs!

The etheree is such a fun form (that I’d almost forgotten about) and you did it well with this fun poem.

Thanks Victoria. I don’t think I’d ever tried it until Colleen added to her list of forms. And you’re right, different forms seem to spawn different types of verse.
