We are doing nothing,
and yet we
shout, we run through skies
like fire. Where
do we live?
Our voices surround the trees,
our dances timeless.
We are deep,
endless, uncontained,
always and
everywhere.
We entwine with movements, with
stillness, with the air,
like leaves
that grow green and then
release themselves,
singing in
the wind. We fall apart and
return completed.
We have no
surfaces, no years
to count or
give away.
We laugh like creatures with wings
scattering clear light.
Our form is
unmeasured. We speak
in no know
tongue. Alive,
we need no reason. No one
can tell you our names.
NaPoWriMo has asked us to spread joy today.
This is such an interesting poem, Kerfe. Lovely!

I especially love the last stanza. Strength and meaning Do not always need definition or boundaries. Beautiful.

Thanks Claudia. I found the seeds in one of my many notebooks full of random thoughts, and it grew…like a gift from the world.

Oh wow. One of your best in my humble opinion. And the artwork is sublime.

Your poem and collage really do spread joy. The collage is so pretty – I almost feel motivated to make one myself – well – almost anyway 🙂

Thanks Suzanne. I used to do a lot more collage, but I’m working back into it. It takes a lot of concentrated time.

yes it does but then so does painting 🙂

Somehow collage takes me longer, and it’s harder for me to be interrupted in doing it. That’s the big thing, uninterrupted time.

Yes, I can see that. Collage does require a deep flow – when I start with it I usually end up somewhat obsessed!

I think this says it all, in the most succinctly poetic and beautiful way possible.
I am finally catching up to Day 7 – it’s taking forever, good lord. I think my brain needs more coaxing than Plant Kitty…
