castle in the sky

castle s

our bridges reflect themselves,
shimmering as we cross
between the solid and what
we cannot control–
the light tells us stories

about what we think we see,
about what lies beneath
the surface of where and who
we think we are–
more, there is always more

that stays unfocused,
that contains what can’t be
seen it its entirety,
that reconfigures itself
with wind, or clouds,

or tides rising from the unseen–
they say humans prefer the mirrored
image to the camera’s eye

the uncapturable moment
of possibility

For Sue Vincent’s photo prompt, above.

Reflections, in-between–“the uncapturable moment of possibility”–I love it, and your watercolor. It makes me think of a raindrop hitting and rippling, melding, changing the surface.

I like how the larger areas of greens and blues contrast with the smaller red, orange and yellow ones.

I love your take on that photo prompt. So strong but what a strong finish… “the uncapturable moment of possibility”.

The light is a great storyteller and you’ve captured its essence in one moment of possibility. Your words really spoke to me. There is always more…the unseen. We get hints and glimmers of who we really are, but only the end will tell the whole story.

the art and poem reflect themselves so well too but these lines stood out for me:
    “shimmering as we cross
    between the solid and what
    we cannot control–”
