Poem up at The Ekphrastic Review
My poem, “Talking to Andy”, inspired by Warhol’s iconic soup can, is posted today at the Ekphrastic Review along with work by Marcy Erb and 15 other writers. You can read it here.
My thanks once again to editor Lorette C. Luzajic for supporting my work and the interaction between the visual and written arts.

Thanks Merril. It’s amazing how Andy anticipated what is commonplace today.

A compelling poem, Kerfe, about the how deceptive and insubstantial life can be.

Congrats, really love it, very clever to use his own quotes … advertisers pay big bucks for creativity and psychology, consumerism at worst …

They do. We really need to learn to consume better and less.

or simply be content with what we have … I’ve used my laptops and phones for more than a decade, they work fine!

I only replace electronics when they give up the ghost, which seems to happen far too often. My laptop is a refurbished one though, so it’s had a previous life.

I enjoy these collections, Kerfe. Loved the challenge to find meaning behind the wrapper. The can is often empty.

I like this one. And this line pops right out, “Art is what you can get away with.” I’ll be thinking on that for awhile. 😉

Andy was very perceptive about culture.

In a way, he creeped me out. In retrospect though, he did have his ear to that particular ground.

My respect for him has grown over the years. He only pretended to be shallow.
