A Day Late
I’m not sure about this one. Usually the painting tells me what to do next. I added the purple last (on Easter) and I’m not sure it works.
I started a few more over the weekend, none finished.
It’s a lovely day here in NJ. Hope everyone is well! Nina

Easter is a time for family, Nina. It is understandable that you didn’t get anything finished. There is always next week. I like the purple.

I’m kind of worried that my streak might be going away. Feeling rather uninspired right now but you’re right, it was family time over the weekend.
Thank you for your nice comment! N.

The purple works well. It looks good. Don’t put pressure on yourself to ‘produce’. Your unconscious will get to work when its ready.

You are right. I need to keep that in mind. Thank you. N.

I like it! My creative juices take days off too sometimes, it’s okay, they always come back!😉

I see a more subdued side of you in this painting. It’s all a long thread of creativity that twists and turns. Every artwork belongs on this thread. That is what I believe. I like the painting. It’s a reflective image.

I am feeling subdued so that makes sense. I have some paintings started that have possibilities. Will work more this weekend. Working a lot of hours this week. N.

liturgically speaking purple is for Lent 😉 there is a lot to see in your painting – only the artist can decide on colours though I particularly love that blue as well as the squiggly textures

Thank you. I dated this and stored it with the others although not sure it was done. N.

Maybe it’s the symbolism speaking. Easter is when you strip off the purple not put it on. Maybe a deeper tone, more like an indigo?

I was thinking a deep blue also. But I put this one aside for now and will move on. What do you mean, though, by stripping off the purple? Never heard that before. Thank you. N.

On Good Friday all the statues and crucifixes in the church (the idolatrous images) has purple covers put over them. They stayed like that through Saturday, and on Easter Sunday they were whipped off again.

Thank you, I never knew that. N.

Your work inspires me to find some unwanted book and pull the pages out to play around with in my own style of artwork. It would be really hard for me, as a writer, to pull a book apart though. I’ll have to think of an Author I really dislike to do it! Hahaha. I often like to say “art inspires art.” I often listen to songs and while I know the songwriter meant it this one way, my mind uses it as a catalyst to weave an entirely different story.

That makes me very happy. In fact it just made my day. Thank you. N.

I like how the yellow helps direct my eye throughout your piece. It looks amazing to me. I am starting an online class that uses line and form from interior decorating for inspiration. I’m looking forward to it. I’d like to get better at abstracts. I really like your painting style. 😃

When I’m painting I like to think of the viewer’s eye being led around the whole piece so I love your comment! N.
