One out of three

I sat down this weekend to work on three more paintings. This seems to be a method that works for me. I can move amongst the three as the spirit dictates. This top one I kept working on after it seemed done. I like doing these swirling ones.

This one I started by painting the bottom of a vase on the black paper (I am still enjoying that). I already see a face in it but hope to go in another direction. I have one more precious sheet of the slips of words made into paper (gift from K) from which I extract the largest pieces. It just looks cool to me to have words in a painting.

This is one I’ve been working and overworking. Finally cut it out and glued it on black paper. It has possibilities.
A chilly start to Christmas week today. Hope everyone has a happy and safe week!
Nina
I bet it feels so good to let your creative spirit manifest itself in this way. All very pretty. I like the brighter first one and the other two of more subdued colors. The busy-ness brings them to life.

Yes it does feel good! I really need to make myself sit down and do more. N.

Could be the full moon and Venus in retrograde. Alternatively, if I make myself sit down and just start fooling around my creativity starts coming on strong! N
Thanks for your kind comment.

Your fantastic paintings look organic and abstract. Fascinating. How big are they?

Too small. 8 x 12 handmade black paper which I’ve been obsessed with for many months. I’d like to work bigger but stuck with a little table in the living room. Someday…and thanks. N.

Someday soon, hopefully. Those paintings would make quite the impact if they were large.

Maybe when I’m retired and have a large sunny studio in Woodstock, NY or Mexico :).

I like your method of working (I also like working on more than one thing at a time) because it seems to multiply your creativity, I see one work influencing the others and so on. I am so drawn in by all of these. They are vibrant and alive. Love what you are doing and how expressive they are.

Thanks Claudia. Hoping the muse comes back strong in 2022. Best wishes to you for the holidays and the new year.

working on more than one piece at a time tends to create similarity and thus creating a set of work which is great to hang alongside each other – personally I am drawn to the oranges, purples and browns
