Pink (Thursday) Door
hard to miss–
door says come on in–
play with me
This pink door stopped me in my tracks the other day. I really like the portico over the entrances–the doors must have been the same when the buildings were constructed. I wonder why the owner on the right chose to make such a different statement about who they are and what might be inside. We know children live there because of the window guards. Perhaps they requested pink.
For Thursday Doors, where you can join in or just visit and enjoy.
It’s a lovely building. Those doors are definitely eye-catching!

It is. A lot of attention to details. It’s a shame it’s too expensive to build like that now.

Yes, it seems like all the old city buildings here, too, had such interesting details.

The stone on the building looks like a shade of pink. What pretty ornamentation on the whole thing. That door could be a neighborhood landmark.

Brownstone can be quite pink in tone. But the light was strange that day. I don’t know where the turquoise came from.

That’s a remarkable entrance, and they are both beautiful doors.

Thanks Dan. It’s beautifully designed to merge the two buildings.

The door looks like it’s been kissed by some exotic shade of lipstick. What a grand sploch of color! Great photo, Kerfe. ❤

That pink door is rather startling, Kerfe. It also looks a lot more modern than the building and its neighbour. A super haiku to go with it.

Thanks Robbie. It did catch my eye. And I agree, it doesn’t have the same feel as the rest of the building. I wondered if it had a day care center inside, though I didn’t see a sign.

Always a conundrum, trying to guess at another’s intent with design, particularly. Strange choice for that particular building! 😛

I actually prefer the door on the left, Ha ha. But yes, a statement happening there. And wouldn’t it be wonderful if the children picked the color!!!

Well my younger daughter picked lilac to paint her room when she was 8 or 9. So it would not surprise me at all!

That door would have stopped me in my tracks to! What a fun color to choose! Someone who lives life for themselves lives there I feel like. ❤

Even I feel like playing with such a door. Its color blends so well with that of the rest of the house!

It is a pinkish brownstone–also the light here has been very pink lately in general. Not sure why.
