June 2022
slipknot
the thought
ready to fade away–
the story lost, mislaid
between image and words—falling,
asking to be caught up, calling—
and if it were–
what then?—now here,
now unconfined, a seed
to open, finally freed—
surprise breaks through
in green and blue
After I saw Muri’s hexaduad the other day I wanted to try one. I took a rough poem I wrote recently, and revised it to fit. It’s a pretty flexible form, despite the rhymes.
We’ve had so much rain and so little very hot weather that it’s lush and green here in NYC to begin June.

I really like that poem. And such a happy ending in the last two lines. The woven images work well as the net to catch the fading thought and lost story.

Thanks D. I wasn’t sure how clear it was, but you got it just right.

How well you do these, K. I enjoyed the rhythm that the rhyming brought and the color.
Lovely are too. Thanks.

We have the lush greenery here, too. I am enjoying it so much, not having seen it for 6 years! Love your poem and image.

I was thinking this morning that I wanted some artwork from you, Kerfe. And wah lah, here it is. Beautiful. And a cool poetic form that you make look effortless, as usual. I love all that green. Happy June.

If only we could distribute it evenly.

well captured! time and time again that is how it is – perhaps too why we cannot let go and keep them in ‘draft’.
Your hexaduad released it!
