The Kick-About #57 ‘Mervyn Peake’
Responses this week to the work of Mervyn Peake.

I clearly don’t know what I’m doing or seeing here. My body is not so well last few months – hard to focus very well. Confuse easily! But I understand appreciation and gratitude, and that’s what I want to say. Much much here to interest and pursue. Wish I were more of a visual artist. I am not. But delight still possible. Was happy to be able to see all of the entries at the site this time. Some changes must have been made to file size. Manifestations from the creative mind are always a joy to behold. Kerfe, I liked reading your captions to your art work. You always give food to the mind as well as to the eye and soul.

I remember being mesmerised by Peake’s artwork in his Gormenghast trilogy as a child. There are some wonderful interpretations here!

Thanks Ingrid. He was not part of my childhood, though I think my daughters would have liked his books, had I known about them.
