November 2022

can you be present
can presence be
everywhere can
everywhere be
present, waiting

opening the mind
the mind breaking
down unscared opening
the mind breaking
wide open, unscared

silent with life
life listened to
in silence filled with
presence listening
to life with silence

A quadrille for November and dVerse, hosted by De, where the word is scare.

I did my circular grid in two segments and arranged them in different ways to see what happened. November always seems the most elemental of months to me. Looking for simple and straightforward comforts, quiet ways to light up our own versions of the dark.

Good questions on presence. Considering time zone and such one wonders.

I love the idea of the mind being able to break wide open, unscared. Reminds me of the movie Limitless.

I love the circles… light, dark, now is the time of deep introspection. Stunning art and I love your poetry.

I like your rearrangements of the same words sending them round in circles, circular questions that have no answers. Like music, all the same notes but in different orders.

I feel the quietness in your art and contemplation, K., being present, being in communion with that presence in silence that is listening, quietening. Beautifully evocative.

Keeping things colorful and bright is important at this time of year, you’re right. Pretty hemispheres.

Beautiful Collage! I like how you experimented with placement of the two halves. And I love the colors! I missing the sun today as we are having rain. At least it isn’t snow yet! Soon I think…

I especially love the first stanza. And I like how you characterized November. You expressed my feelings about this time of year. I think of winter as a time to rest and gather strength and to me November is the entrance.

I feel the same way about November, especially this month where we’ve had sun and rain and hail and high winds all in the space of a week. A wild time.
