About
Kerfe and Nina have known each other since their days on Seventh Avenue, designing textiles for the clothing market of the late 70’s. Over the years they have tried to inspire each other to keep doing art work. Life gets in the way a lot, so they started this blog to have a place to see each other’s work and also post items of interest. Please enjoy the artwork!
Update, November 3, 2015. We’ve now been blogging for over a year and are honored to have (as of today) 416 followers. There is a wonderful and supportive community of artists on WordPress and we are fortunate to be members of that group. Our intent was to keep in touch via our artwork but the blog has become much more than that. Mainly it is just fun to post artwork of all kinds that we do (Kerfe: stitching, collage, drawing, poetry, photography/Nina: drawing, painting, assemblage) and to get feedback from our WordPress friends. Welcome to our world!
Update, February 15, 2017. We are still posting after a break this summer. It’s wonderful that we have 1,174 followers–how did that happen? We also follow a number of great artists and poets who provide inspiration daily. Shout out to Davisbrotherlylove, Claudia McGill, Jane Dougherty, rivrlogr, Charlie O’Shields, Jill Kuhn, Lynz Real Cooking, Jodi, Carol A. More, Sand Salt Moon, Michael Richards (certainline), merrildsmith, Sue Vincent, sheldonk2014…just a few of the friends we have made on WordPress who have great blogs and are wonderfully supportive of our work. Thanks for stopping by.

Greetings, Nina! What a pleasant surprise to find your blog, but no surprise to see that you’re still doing fine work. Me, I have a blog is too. Bumbas is the original name for Baum. Check it out. Glad to see “you” again. 🙂

Yeah. But Nina responded that she didn’t remember me, which I found weird. And still find weird. I thought I was unforgettable. Cheers and thanks for visiting!

As a still life painter, I tip my hat to textile designers! All the cloths I use (and love!) in my still lifes wouldn’t even exist but for the fantastic creative efforts of untold numbers of designers!

Hi Nina, if you are interested in finding more kindred spirits, please feel free to post at the Senior Salon on Wednesdays.

What is that exactly? Can you send a link?

The Senior Salon is a feature of https://haddonmusings.com that goes live every Wednesday. It is for anyone who is retired or over the age of 50 to post a feature from their blog to share with other creative people. You do not need need to put any attribution to Haddon Musings on your post.

Hi Kerfe and Nina, Every now and then someone comes along and “knocks your socks off” word-wise and art-wise. I love you two! So original. The poetry really speaks to me too. (I’m an ancient, curious, scribbler who would love lo greet 90…) https://joylennick.wordpress.com/ Onwards and upwards. xx

Hi, Sarah here from fmmewritespoems.wordpress.com.
I live in a small town in Devon, UK. Over the last few years the town has raised money to renovate our town hall and make it into a community asset. A friend of mine, Anne Tattersall, is now managing it and continuing fundraising. Anne is organising a “Festival of Women’s Voices” as a fundraiser for next International Women’s Day. Somehow I’ve volunteered to help, by looking for donations of poems from my women poet contacts around the world. Ideally, Anne would like to be able to link to women reading their work, but I’m not sure about the logistics of that. Failing that, we’d like to do a display, and maybe use some words on tea-towels. If you feel you could donate a poem that would be wonderful.

That sounds wonderful Sarah. Did you have a poem in mind?
I’m totally technologically incompetent, so I’m sure I couldn’t manage a reading, but you are more than welcome to use the words.

I’m right at the start of this thing, but if you’re happy, I’ll have a look through your work – unless you have anything that you think would be particularly appropriate to a celebration of the strength of women?

I admire persistence. Good for you guys. The thing about blogs/internet I appreciate is the opportunity to engage, artist to viewer. Don’t always happen so much but at least there is a chance. Thanks for flying into the wind.

Yes, that’s me. Memadtwo is my blog with my friend Nina, so we distinguish our comments with our initials. Kblog is the blog I do myself, but WordPress insists on all my comments saying they are from memadtwo.
